About the company/role:
  • Leading Australian bioanalytical and clinical laboratory that provides high‑quality virology, immunology, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics services to support early to late‑phase clinical trials.
  • The purpose of this role is to provide expertise and assistance in the develop, validate and conduct PK assays for preclinical and clinical studies. 
  • Based in Melbourne CBD

Duties:
  • Manage laboratory supplies and equipment, including ordering, obtaining quotes, maintaining inventories, and ensuring instruments are cleaned, calibrated, and serviced appropriately.
  • Develop, optimise, validate, and perform biological assays, particularly immunology techniques such as cytokine profiling and ELISA to support research projects, preclinical studies, and clinical trials.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain policies, SOPs, systems, and documentation
  • Oversee safe, efficient, and compliant laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to ISO/IEC 17025
  • Analyse, interpret, and present data; contribute to internal and client reports; and participate in technical discussions with colleagues, partners, and clients.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through meetings, training, and seminars, while staying current with emerging assay technologies and recommending improvements where relevant.

About you:
  • PhD in a Biological discipline (desirable)
  • 3-4 years' experience in the development and validation of a range of biological assays including cellular, cytokine and molecular assays
  • Strong background and proven experience performing immunological assays (ELISA) and molecular techniques 
  • Knowledge of clinical trials is beneficial
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong managerial experience
  • Self-motivated and eagerness to learn
