About the role: We are currently seeking a Microbiologist/ Science Expert who displays initiative, drive, and passion for problem solving to join the company on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the CFO, in this role you will be
responsible to take the lead with this plant that is soon to be completed and commissioned.
Your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:- Oversee biological commissioning and maintenance
- Responsible for all key aspects of keeping AD biology healthy
- Overall responsibility for all aspects of Microbiology, including testing, documentation of results, analysis and action
- Training of staff in microbiology aspects
- Liaise with Plant Operators who deal with biology day to day
- Impact of other feedstocks and decision as to whether you use them
- Liaise with any external people being used for biological advice and monitoring
- Work with and provide instruction to the laboratory team, including planning and conducting various tests across AD and fertiliser
- Liquid and fertiliser development assistance
- Review literature and the findings of other researchers
- Be proactive in keeping up to date with “new microbiological” science
To be successful in this position you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Science or a relevant discipline
- Proven work experience as a Microbiologist or similar role. Anaerobic Digestion experience is preferable.
- Ability to conduct various microbiological tests
- Detail-oriented with analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and protocols.
