Site Technical Manager

About the company/role:
Evolve Scientific are recruiting for a Site Technical Manager for a company who manufacturers fresh produce, soups, sauces and supplies to all the major retailers and food service chains across Australia. This role will have 2 direct Technical Coordinator reports but will provide leadership to the entire technical team and the site for all quality matters. It is essential to have senior management and hisk-risk, short shelf life experience. This is a permanent, day shift role with standard hours. However, due to the seasonal nature of the product range the busy period is between November to January. 
 
Duties:

• Lead the site at a strategic and operational level for everything related to food safety and quality
• Manage the technical team and provide quality support cross functionally
• Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
• Maintain site certifications and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer standards
• Prepare and lead the site for external and third-party audits
• Attend leadership meetings and determine KPI’s
• Investigate significant quality issues and implement corrective actions

Skills/experience:

• Several years’ experience as an established Quality Manager in the food/beverage industry
• Previous experience working with high-risk, short-shelf life products is essential
• Qualifications in food science or a related discipline
• Experience working in a fast moving, dynamic environment essential
• Experience in SQF/WQA, HACCP, ISO, GMP
• Excellent leadership and communication skills essential
• Strong attention to detail and technical skills
• Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
