About the company/role: Our client is a well-known small goods manufacturing company supplying all major retailers and food service chains across Australia and internationally. This is a leadership level permanent night shift position reporting directly to the factory manager. This role will manage a team of over 100 hygiene night shift team members. This strategic role will be responsible for developing and implementing company polices and driving improvements.
Duties:
Manage and coach hygiene team of over 100 members
Participate in internal and external audits
Ensure compliance with company and legal standards (food, quality, hygiene, environment)
Develop training matrixes and development plans for team members
Implement HR policies and processes (performance, conduct, attendance etc)
Lead microbiology management program and carry out incident investigation
Lead the site for cleaning GMP cleaning standards
Attend senior management meetings and report on KPIs
Manage budgets related to labour and chemicals
Develop processes and drive continuous improvement culture
Skills/experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline
Experience in a food manufacturing environment is essential
Previous experience managing and setting up large teams in highly advantageous
Internal audit and certification standards experience required
Competent with Microsoft Office suite and ability to use internal software’s e.g. iLeader
Effectively communicate with other stakeholders and suppliers
Proactive, analytical, organised, problem solving skills required
