About the company/role: Our client is a fresh produce manufacturer who provides a diverse product range (salads, chopped fruit and vegetables, soups, sauces) to all the major retailers, leading QSR and airlines within Australia. They have multiple sites across Australia with over 1,000 employees. Their site at Homebush is seeking an experience Technical Coordinator to lead a team of Technical Officers. The role will report directly to the Site Technical Manager.
Duties:- Develop, implement and review of the QMS
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Technical Officers and ensure quality checks are completed
- Monitor Technical Officers workload and performance
- Maintain site certifications and registrations to ensure compliance with standards
- Resolve significant issues and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Manage raw materials and packaging and foster relationships with key suppliers
- Attend daily site meetings as the quality representative
- Drive quality focused culture and deliver food safety training
- Work cross-functionally with production, procurement, logistics, NPD, maintenance and warehouse
Skills/experience: - Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline
- Previous experience working with RTE products (preferably fresh produce with short shelf-life)
- Knowledge of food microbiology, HACCP, GMP, pre-requisite programs
- Experience with quality standards: SQF, WQA, YUM, CFMSR
- Experience with internal and external auditing
- Previous experience leading a team is highly advantageous
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
