About the Role:
We are currently recruiting a casual full-time TO4 Senior QA Technician for our QLD State Government client, based in the western suburbs of Brisbane. This role is Monday to Friday until September 2024 with the possibility of further extension

Mandatory requirement for this role is:
Vaccination or immunity to QFever

Duties:
As a Senior QA Technician, you will support scientific diagnostic and pharmaceutical services by providing high-level technical specialist services and advice to the work unit, business area and external stakeholders. Where relevant this may include providing timely, high level, expert and authoritative advice on policy and legislative issues and suggesting solutions to complex problems based on rigorous analysis of relevant information. This may include the following duties:
  • Oversee a specialist’s functional area as detailed within the code of GMP, Quality control or vaccine production supervisor.
  • Manufacture and distribution of effective and efficient quality assured Tick Fever vaccine to meet industry demand on time, within budget.
  • Document and report QA breaches through to a satisfactory resolution with appropriate implementation of deviation, change control, out of specification, corrective and preventative action, and non-conformance processes.
  • Ensure adherence to document control.
  • Provide specialist advice and assistance to the Laboratories Manager, General Manager and CVO as necessary.
  • Laboratory procedures in a pharmaceutical clean room environment involved in the processing of vaccine and other biological products.
  • Overseeing and leading and participating in the investigation of complaints related to the quality of the product.
  • Recording and documenting data using defined systems and methods.
  • Maintain currency in NATA/ GMP/ APVMA requirements.
  • Dealing with business other than tick fever vaccine, Marek’s Disease vaccine, Tricampers and Leucaena inoculum.
  • Under guidance from senior scientists, undertake data analysis and interpretation to support project/team deliverables, including direct contribution to the communication of scientific findings via project reports, research papers, conference presentations.
  • Review and maintain oversight of the QMS.

Skills/experience:
  • The successful applicant must hold a mandatory Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Biological Science from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent academic qualifications.
  • Vaccination or immunity to Q Fever will be mandatory.
  • Strong Quality Assurance systems and documentation experience; preferably within a regulated environment (TGA/FDA/APVMA/NATA).
  • Experience in deviations, corrective actions and change control.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment an advantage.
  • Practical understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Experience in leadership and managing teams.
  • Participation in an on-call roster and out-of-hours work may be required.
  • Be prepared to work with and handle chemicals.
  • You will be required to maintain an appropriate level of fitness and dexterity and promptly notify your manager of any injury, illness or loss of capacity to undertake standard physical tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to commence immediately.
