About the Company/Role:
- Defence Science and Technology Group (DTSG) seeking a specialized coatings and corrosion scientist
- This role is to start January 2025 and end December 2025

Duties: DSTG is seeking a Topcoat specification chemist to generate an appropriate APAS specification for 2 to 5 different topcoat colours total for the two platforms to achieve the desired visible colour.
- Publishing the specifications
- Test prototype coatings against draft specifications and produce a report demonstrating compliance.
- Engage with coating manufacturers to progress scale up
- Engage with coating manufacturers to progress scale-up of the topcoats required for application
- Assist with preparing the materials, procedures and trial plans
- Contribution of writing reports as required
- Communication with stakeholders and external collaborators
About you:- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Degree in Chemistry or related discipline (Honours or PhD)
- Experience testing colour stability, slip resistance, chemical and corrosion resistance and ozonolytic degradation in pigmented coatings.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct scientific research through the use of scientific databases/literature.
