About the role:We are currently seeking 2 x reliable and motivated
Trade Assistants to join a growing infrastructure services team working across South East Queensland. This is a hands-on, field-based role supporting sewer network inspection and smoke testing activities. Smoke testing is a safe and non-toxic process used to identify defective sewer pipes, leaks, and incorrect connections that can contribute to wastewater overflows and environmental impacts. This is a
full-time casual opportunity offering
long-term ongoing work, an
immediate start, and the
potential to secure a permanent position.

As a Trade Assistant, you will work alongside experienced technicians carrying out sewer inspection and smoke testing activities across various sites.
Key responsibilities include:- Assisting with sewer smoke testing operations
- Setting up and operating testing equipment
- Opening and securing manholes and access points
- Monitoring test locations and recording observations
- Assisting with site safety and traffic management where required
- Speaking directly with clients, residents, and stakeholders regarding testing activities
- Completing basic documentation and reporting
- General labouring and Trade Assistant duties as required
- Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental procedures
Skills/Experience:To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Labourer, Civil Construction Worker, Utilities Worker or similar
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills and confidence speaking directly with clients and members of the public
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A high regard for workplace health and safety
- A current driver's licence
- The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
**PLEASE NOTE: Applicants will be required to undertake a full medical assessment, drug and alcohol screening, and provide evidence of, or be willing to obtain, vaccinations for
Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus to be eligible for this role.
