Evolve Scientific, a leading scientific and technical recruitment agency, part of the NES Fircroft group, is seeking an experienced Workplace Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our well-established team in Brisbane with a national focus on our overall business across Australia. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable safety experience within a range of scientific and technical industries over a period of 6 months with potential for extension.

Your duties will include: 
  • Regular candidate care through safety check-ins at set intervals. 
  • Assisting with contractor complaints/discrepancies and redirecting contractor enquiries to the correct departments.  
  • Conducting regular audits of the online Evolve Safety inductions.  
  • Assisting contractors with all reported incidents, both work and non-work related, and aiding them in returning to work and obtaining the required clearances.  
  • Maintaining accurate records of incidents and near misses.  
  • Logging Workcover claims and maintaining communication with the relevant Workcover insurance companies.  
  • Conducting investigations into workplace safety incidents. 
  • Liaising with clients to develop Return to Work Plans where light duties are supported.  
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients to provide updates on contractor recovery. 
  • Conducting monthly Site Safety audits of the Site Safety’s completed nationally.  
  • Coordinating in-person and remote client meetings for the completion of site safety’s. 
  • Reporting on Evolve safety incidents in the monthly NES Fircroft OH&S meeting. 
  • Provide weekly updates on current Workcover claims to Evolve Managers and Team Leaders. 
 
What you’ll need: 
  • Formal qualifications in Work Health and Safety (or working towards) are desirable. 
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage resources effectively. 
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with cultural awareness and sensitivity. 
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Strong conflict resolution skills. 
  • Good judgement and problem-solving ability and is capable of understanding the impact of decision making on the business.
