About the company/role:
Based in the south of Sydney, this well-known government organisation undertakes leading edge research in nuclear science and technology and provides specialised advice to government, industry, academia and other research organisations. The senior chemist will plan and supervise daily QC activities and act as a product specialist.

Responsibilities include:
  • Plan and supervise the daily QC activities and contribute to training of QC staff.
  • Act as a SME and manage all the continues improvement projects related to the product.
  • Perform analyses of raw materials, intermediates and finished goods using ICP-MS/OES.
  • Perform QA activities, - release of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  • Manage the QMS System - CAPAs, MOCs, Deviations and OOS.
  • Coordinate calibration, maintenance, method development, validation and stability activities in the QC laboratories.
  • Maintain documentation - procedures, work instructions, specifications, quality plans, and other quality and technical documents.
  • Provide technical information for submissions to regulating authorities and customers.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting for a range instrumentation and test methodology.
  • Participate in regulatory audits (TGA, FDA and ARPANSA). 
Skills & experience:
  • Degree in Science with a Chemistry or related major
  • Australian Citizenship required.
  • Knowledge of analytical instrumentation and analytical techniques (ICP-MS/OES & HPLC)
  • Experience working within pharmaceutical industry, GMP environment.
  • Experience in TGA, FDA, NATA audits.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a efficient and proactive approach.
  • Strong time management skills and committed to meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
  • Ability to work on a shift schedule, including one Sunday each month. No night shifts will be required.
